My 2004 Navara went bang today. con rod through the engine block. It must be a fairly common problem as all dismantlers sold out of 2nd hand engines! Has anyone any advice on dealing with Nissan directly. As a new engine is more that the value of the vehicle ,full price is not an option.

Hi Wilbur Welcome to the site, the people on here are great, you will get a lot of help I think. First bit of advice on dealing with Nissan is quote this website name in your correspondence and settle in for a long struggle. Also there is a posting on the customer services part of this board today from Nissan and it supplies a direct email to head of quality - probably send details of your case there. We are in the same boat as you, ours went bang way back at the start of April. It totally shocked us and then the treatment from Nissan just rubbed salt in the wound - 2 official rejections of our case so far and numerous dismissals on the phone. People have managed to get their cases resolved though so stick with it relentlessly. There are phone numbers for various members of the site dotted about if you want any specific info or just want to talk to others in same position.

Thanks for the support. As a small business I can't be without my vehicle for the amount of time it will take to get Nissan to pay. I have just paid out £2500 for a re-conditioned engine. I am angry but realistic.
