Hello all. I've just rebuilt my D22 it stripped the teeth off the crank sprocket and sent the timing chain through the oil pump. On the plus side it only bent two valves. Rebuilt the engine new shells, timing chain kit, oil pump and all is going well. Every now and again on the first start up it's taking a while for the oil warning light to go out, I can only assume it's the o ring seal between the sump and the oil pump letting in air and the oil draining back into the sump from the pick up. I'm just puzzled as to why it only happens now and again, I've since found out that Billcar do a modified tube and o ring, has anyone used one ?, I did run a bead of silicon carefully around my seal before fitting the sump as it was recommended, any help would be greatly appreciated.
