Hello Everyone,
I got a shiny new D40 Aventura in March 07. I was the envy of all my work mates for a while, how things change. In less than three years it's been in five times for the same fault, each taking two or three weeks to sort, and now they've had it since the end of November, and the mechanic (main dealer Evans Halshaw)has told me he doesn't know whats wrong with it. The symptoms are a dramatic loss of power during acceleration, and then nothing from the engine above 1000rpm. To add insult to injury, Evans Halshaw are now telling me the three year warranty is limited to 60'000miles, which i had just past, so are now charging me for repairs! 14/9/07 Fuel tube assembley. 15/01/08 Fuel injector pump. 28/08/08 Fuel tube assembley and 4wd Switches. 16/11/09 Fuel pump. 29/11/09 Still in workshop (08/01/10). More as it happens. Deep Joy! Finally got the Aventura back from the garage on Wednesday (13th Jan 2010) with a clean bill of heath, and a bank account £1100.00 the lighter. Add to above list of repairs, 08/01/10 Fuel Pump Assembly and common rail. IT LASTED NEARLY TWO DAYS AND BROKE DOWN AGAIN TODAY!. Back to Evans Halshaw at Mansfield again, who are really nice folks actually, told them i don't want it back, it's not fit for purpose and my company solicitors will be contacting them. No courtesy car available. Courtesy car provided the next day, and met with the chap who runs my local Evans Halshaw, David. He's a really nice bloke, and he told me what to do regarding contacting Nissan UK. After an initial point blank refusal to offer any help, and a week diliberating, Nissan have now agreed to fully fund the necessary repairs, and give a years warranty on them. I had to threaten them with legal action but i have in principle got a result. The next hurdle is trying to actually fix the car! 26th of Jan 2010, two months in the garage, keep you posted.
