My Nissan D40 06 plate Died today, Having had a new clutch and flywheel about 4weeks ago. Upon trying to pull off the car would not move, it was as if the wheels were locked. Gave it some revs and pulled of very slowly. I then stopped and try to pull off again and the same problem happened again but then a banging noise happened from either the diff or shaft. It seemed as the diff was winding up. When reversing it was fine. I then called the AA and had it towed (lifted) to my garage incase of any further damage. Does anybody have any Ideas !!!!!! Regards Andy

Update on the fault !!!. On closer inspection to the rear wheel, hub we found oil inside. The drive shaft innner oil seal had failed and contaminated the shoes, and we think the ABS sensor/ gear. Thus causing the ABS to malfunction. There was no warning lights on the dash to inform me that there was a problem. The shoes were changed, the ABS sensor/ gear cleaned up, and seals replaced. All seems to be fine at the moment keep fingers crossed. Thanks to Pheonix Engines Willenhall. Andy
