Navara 04 model. 3rd piston/ conrod short engine failure. Done 81000 miles. Nissan UK customer services like running into a brick wall. As truck is a cypriot import, (News to me) Nissan UK are refusing to help, despite the fact that all were made in Japan using con rods/ end bolts that are not fit for purpose and truck registered as new in the uk !!! Told me to phone nissan cyprus as it was their problem! ? The fight continues... Nissan clearly don't care about what their customers think. Mission statement on their global web site claims they do HA HA HA Am contacting Paul Wilcox UK Nissan Managing director, Watchdog, VOSA about imports, Consumers direct and trading standards UK. Wish me luck.

Navara bought new june 09, with 09 plate, been running well, had first service at 18500, had front pads changed at 26000 and air bag recall at same time all ok, at 33000 heard clattering noise on start up when cold, put in to dealer for investgation, that was three weeks ago, told last Wed that Navara was out of warranty, being a cypriot import, the warranty according to Nissan started when the Navara left the factory in Dec 06.
Doesn't matter that there was only delivery mileage on the Navara and the DVLA registered the car new in June 09. seems Nissan are finding any way out of honuring their 3 year / 60000 mile advertised warranty, Had no idea that Navara was an import, nothing shows on V5, Cust services at Nissan a joke, keep getting standard reply its being dealt with by "Head Office" Head Office it turns out is in the next Building. anyone had problems with so called "Imports" and reduced warranty periods, would be interested to know.
The Problem with the Navara is Injector rattle, faced with a £2000 bill to put right on a 9 month old Vehicle.

Nissan GB have rejected all claims on this Navara, as its not a UK car ( so they say but won't offer any written evidence to back up their claim) I am supposed to deal with Nissan Europe, Pan european warranty ( According to Nissan GB ) starts when vehicle leaves factory ( but not stated in writing) .
Navara is RHD, speedo in MPH and not KPH if destined for Cyprus, Warranty booklet in english with Nissan GB address at back to send off change of address card,
We have another 58 plate Navara so tried to check out is this a Cyprus import, Nissan dealer can't tell me, they would only know if a claim for warranty work was submitted and then refused.
Sent 6 page letter by Email and recorded delivery to Richard Carter at Nissan GB supposed to be Customer Services Manager, according to mission statement should respond within 24 hours, heard nothing.
It seems that any Nissan not bought new from a franchised dealer can be subject to this discrimination on warranties. as consumer if your not told at the outset that the car is an "import" you have no way of checking for yourself until you make a claim, oh tried to speak to Nissan Warranty department, they will not take calls you have to go through Customer Services who must be trained in how to be less than usless.

Hi ,Please look at Wendy,s blog and take this to head office in Japan CEO Mr Carlos Ghosn .This way of abrogating responsibility by claiming the vehicle is an import is bogus.Navaras are not made in the UK so all are imports. Nissan has compensated others ,including myself ,and mine came from Cyprus.Take you complaint also to Trading Standards,Watchdog and SMMT .Look through the posts and you will see an address for Nissan Japan I,m going to e-mail your complaint on behalf of KN and will post Regards Niall

ir ,once again Knackerednavara has cause to complain in the strongest terms over the way customer service is treating owners here in the UK. Another vehicle with problems has been rejected on the grounds that it is a Cyprus import and as you are well aware ,navaras are not manufactured in the UK ,so ,all are imports and a nissan is a nissan where ever it comes from. This will be be reported to Trading Standards ,BBC Watchdog ,which did an article in october2008 and The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Navara bought new june 09, with 09 plate, been running well, had first service at 18500, had front pads changed at 26000 and air bag recall at same time all ok, at 33000 heard clattering noise on start up when cold, put in to dealer for investgation, that was three weeks ago, told last Wed that Navara was out of warranty, being a cypriot import, the warranty according to Nissan started when the Navara left the factory in Dec 06.

Hi Niall, I have been waiting now for 7 days for the promisied letter from Nissan UK explaining why they will not accept this warranty claim, still nothing,
Nissan seem to have a problem when asked to justify their position in writing, as yet they have provided no documentary evidence that this Navara is a Cyprus import and that the warranty started in Dec 2006.
I have a Customer services referance number and two email tracking numbers from customer services these seem to mean nothing to them when quoted. currently waiting for todays post, if nothing arrives will be moving this to the next level and trying to contact Annette de Napoli, thanks for your help.

We would like Nissan to
1. Recall all models that may be affected by the con rod issue, certainly all those identified that resulted in having their warrantys extended. 2. Re-compensate to the Glass's/Cap Guide value of a replacement vehicle, all those who experienced engine failure due to the con rod related issue.
