I bought a d22 Navara on Tuesday unaware of these probs with the con rod and on wed morning experienced a flat spot on the power going up the gears. I didn;t get any service history as i bought it 2nd hand and privately. It an 04 with 67k. I made some calls yesterday after opening the bonnet and realised that the engine looked new. I called the garage in gloucester that was listed on the tax disk holder and found that the engine had been replaced in May 09 after con rod failure. I then called Nissan in linwood due to the fact that the old tax disks still in the holder were from gloucester and linwood. They told me that it had been to them in july to fault find a "loss of power". Similiar to what i experienced. Any body any ideas???????

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Its a switch on gearbox. Neutral is being signalled to ecu so fuel is set for neutral. I have same prob it feels like a flat spot, sticky injector. Nissan mechanic says to put on ramps selector switch is accessable from underneath. Unclip clean and refit. should sort prob but if not replace same part as faulty not dirty
