Hi folks
Ive owned my Navara D40 since 2006 and use it every day.
If i could afford to send it back into nissan and burn it in there forecourt i so would . I hate it now and honestly cant even think of owning a Nissan ever again.
I have spent in the last 3 years £4500 on repair bills ALL paid for by my own pocket as the warranty is a joke .
Paid for 3 clutches
paid for 4x4 sensors
paid for halfshafts
paid for bearings etc
My dash board looks like a christmas tree as there are so many warning signs flashing .
I paid £27,000 for my pick-up 3 years ago and its now worth £7k so my total loss is £20 k in depreciation and £4500 in repairs .
Word of warning
My navara failed its first mot on 2 items [ rear nearside brakes inaffective] the cause a simple oil seal on the half shaft . Should cost £5 but was charged a whopping £1600 from nissan as the design is a complete con. In order to get the seal you have to buy 2 new halfshafts as the bearing and seals are 1 unit as they have built them this way to maximise profits on a simple wear and tear part.
If you need a rear bearing which is common on any car then be aware due to the design you will have to buy the whole rig at £800 per side and they will charge £1000 to fit . Total cost £2600
The other repair required for the MOT are a pair of ball joints . Just did my landrover at £4 a side . Nissan want £173 each plus £160 to fit .
Im sorry to moan but the message is simple . Nissan are out for one thing and thats pure profit , its been designed in to cost you a fortune .
Regards
Doug
