Ive a 08 Navara, 9000 on the clock, going in next week for new clutch. Rang my local dealer, (not the purchasing dealer) told them i thought there was a problem with the clutch, squeals and clunks and it wont hold for a hill start. No problem, booked it in for two days. I checked the day due in re loan car and how long i would need it, we don't know, the 2 days are for stripping the vehicle, if it then needs a clutch we will order one. How long? last one was two weeks delivery came the reply. You don't want to know my response. There response, well take it back to where you bought it. Nice!!!
Rang Nissan. They said that they thought that the dealer was being perfectly fair as that is their procedure. Told them it wasn't, by a long way (loan car is £10.00 per day by the way, for a warranty fault) After a lengthy discussion with Nissan, where they tried to put the onus on me to sort the problem, I informed my representative that unless she wanted me on the phone every 10 minutes that the vehicle is in over 2 days then she had better sort it. Result!! following day another dealer contacted me, they have ordered the parts in advance and as soon as they arrive they will ring me and collect the vehicle and i can have a loan car at no charge.
Just a note for anyone else with this problem. I have spoken to a Nissan mechanic prior to ringing Nissan. I supply garages so i get into the workshops. I asked him about my problem, he immediately said it needs a new clutch with a solid flywheel. Oh right i says, and it is a common problem? See that pile over there? they are the clutches Ive fitted this week on navaras. Nissan were being awkward until imentioned this and then backed off.
Now its not been in yet so i cant comment on whether its going to be a success, but it shows unfortunately unless you really kick off, they wont help you.
