I've had my Navara for not quite 2 years now, 65000 miles, 90% of which on road, the rest in largely sandy fields. I've already had the rear drive shaft UJ go at about 38000 miles, and the front drive shaft UJ has just gone now, about 2000 miles out of warranty. I know of at least 3 or 4 other Navaras that have had a similar problem (all used within farming circles).
Also, I've had the 4wd switches replaced at least 6 times - every time you go through a puddle, it lets a little water into the 4wd gearbox (so I'm told) and shorts out the switches. Although it still goes in and out of 4wd fine, it flashes all sorts of warnings at you. I was told it's not a problem to keep driving when it does this, so I do (can't spend all my life in Nissan getting switches repaired).
Also had bearings go in alternator (which sounds like it's not uncommon), drivers inside door handle stop working (though now decided to work again), rust on seal around rear window, water intake into turbo (though this seems to dry off after a while) - the list goes on...
Has anyone else had similar problems on Navaras used (at least in part) off-road?
Would appreciate your responses, as it is now out of warranty, but I want Nissan to sort it out!! Thanks
