I received the letter from Nissan stating that the warranty had been extended, thought i had better get the engine checked out as it deffinitly seemed a bit noisy on cold start up. Booked in for a check up last week with it being carried out today, however it gave up the ghost (with much noise and oil) of Friday evening. Only problem is we carry out all our servicing in house, its never been a problem before as we used to use only Toyota Hi-Lux's. Anyone got any ideas on what the chances of a succesfull warranty claim are?

Hi Driller, I am still fighting my case, never having seen said letter customer service at Nissan are still insisting they will only replace the 'short engine' and no other parts damaged or being replaced as good practice....ie sump with its hole from the con rod, gaskets, cam chain and followers etc. My local dealer Wessex Nissan have been very supportive and amazed at this stand by the head office, but if I still have no joy when I pickup my truck next stop will be small claims court...will then include hire van etc etc.....good luck!!

I dont seem to be having a lot of joy from Nissan, they are really dragging their feet in responding to anything. The truck has been with the Nissan garage since last monday but customer services have yet to get their report on what is wrong with the truck. I keep telling them whats wrong with.......its gaot a hole in the engine block, like many others before it.Im keeping a log of all the phone chase ups im ahving to carry out as they never contact me , its always me who contacts them. Worse still is im having to slum it in our Izuzu truck thats worse to drive than a Navarra.
