Hi,
just found this site found this site, and as I have a Navara (D40), sort of interested in how common these issues are?
FWIW, this is my second D40, first one did just over 60K miles, no issues, current one was new November.
Only thing that's bugging me currently is the new one has nothing like the power or economy of the old one (EU3 vs EU4?)
Anybody know if there is a fix for this?

What kind of driving do you guys do? I have 3km offroad (hilly dusty stony track every time I go anywhere, every time, however many times a day, and from tarmac to motorway is about 10km....... my diesel consumption runs in direct relation to how leaden footed I am and whether I venture further than the nearest village! Plus of course converting from litres per 100km to mpg does my head in.... Today it's 9.2, on a careful couple of days it could be below 9, if I've reset the trip & I'm going up the track in 4x4 it's easily 24

This was lifted from www.motorsm.com/complaints Look for your self --- I'm surprised you got 11.1L/100k as a similar test on my vehicle returned 12.4L/100. Extra urban figures claimed by Nissan was 8.6L100k. I've compared with another manufacturer whose vehicle is 300kg heavier, is Auto diesel with DPF and 10.5L/100k (same as the D40) on the windscreen. The D40 uses 30 to 40% more fuel! Nissan, We have a problem!. Check your oil? It will be Black - Black even when just changed. This is a sure sign the fuel is not being burnt properly. Nissan have Fudged their 81/01 figures (fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures) and the Government should be doing something about it. The fuel problem appears to affect all D40 T/D Auto’s it is not a one-off. Nissan have known about this since early 2007 to my knowledge and have not been able to rectify the problem. Complain to everyone you can, especially the politicians/Government as Nissan shouldn't be allowed to unnecessarily contribute to the Greenhouse problem.------- Please google navara complaints and just see what,s out there
