Hi all, my 04 plate D22 57k miles has just blown with a hole in the engine, with no warning on the M5. Only had it 8 weeks 2nd hand from a garage (not nissan) who sent an engineer to inspect within a week. They have now asked for service book to check the history, which has some nissan and some 4x4 centre services to date. I was going to service at 60k ha ha! Ok if I point the garage owner to this site?
cheers Geoff

Thanks Niall, Both the garage and the survey engineer now know of the message board, a great help. Engineer had been in touch with my local Nissan dealer, paid them a visit with the service book today and are submitting details to Nissan UK, and sound hopeful of getting me a replacement engine....fingers crossed.....

Ah well, so much for hope... spoke to Nissan UK customer service today, the gentleman is now insisting he has full invoices for every service carried out on my navara. I have a service logbook stamped up as required but no invoices from the previous owner, and speaking to him they may no longer exist after he sold the motor to the garage I purchased it from. He is also saying the vehicle has to go to a Nissan garage, be stripped and assessed before any warranty decision...where does this me? I'm not sure, think a visit the Citizens Advice....ho hum....

Eventually got through to the dealership that did the first 3 years service, they said invoices were to old to print but to get customer service to contact them direct as they wouldn't let me have any info... the coven strikes again?? Have had the Navara delivered to Wessex Nissan for strip/investigation and hope that I can persuade Nissan to to the right thing here.....

Well, the plot thickens.... after many unanswered calls to customer service they agreed to replace the 'short' engine through my local garage Wessex Nissan, who have been most helpful and polite, unlike customer service!! Wessex themselves are confounded as I still face a bill of £1500 for 'consequential' items....aarrgghh!! Still, when I tried to complain about my 'case officer' at customer service, and his attitude and manners to me and my Wessex contact, things may be moving again, persistance paying off maybe?? We'll see....
