I as many are concerned that my D22 Navara will throw a conrod through the block and effectively write the vehicle off on cost of new engine.
I have approached a Nissan specialist who has suggested changing the crackshaft/conrod bearings for upgraded Nissan ones and replacing the conrod bolts with modified APR's. All the work would be done from underneath (ie no engine removal) and the cost is £500. Anyone else done this? is it an efective way to once and for all rectify the risk?
My Navara is a 2002 D22 with 62k on the clock...

i belive this is being done by some people as an insurance to keep their vehicles running, but in my opinion why should you do this, insist that nissan check your vehicle, and give you written confirmation that you engine number is outside the faulty batch,
