My Company purchased a Navara Aventura in Sept 05 after informing the dealer that the vehicle would travel over 60K miles per year and be used for long distance travel throughout Europe. In Nov 05 it went back for 1st service and upon return there was a problem with the ABS warning light that took several weeks to resolve with the car off the road. After unsuccesful attempts to cure the problem a new wiring loom was fitted and a new rear axle re faulty bearing assembles. A period then followed where the car was constantly back in Nissan Garages at Plymouth and County Durham for remedal work to be carried out inc, A replacement turbo, Sat Nav, Fuel Pump, Front Disc Assemblies on both sides, Replacement Clutch and flywheel, Blue Tooth upgrading (That made no difference), 2nd Sat Nav, 4WD switch problems etc that took the car up to the 60K mile mark in the first year. I wrote many letters to the supplying dealer and Nissan, and explored all possible avenues inc, Putting the car in for exchange but the price offered was ridiculous from the dealer owing to the recurring faults and mileage! I then rejected the car and Nissan ignored my request so I stopped paying for the car. I heard nothing for about 6 months until Nissan Finance solicitors became involved. In that time the same faults consistantly re-occured with front hub bearings collapsing on both sides, front discs changed that wear out quicker than pads, a severe engine knock when cold initially and now constant, rear axle bearing failure again, a gearbox that whines more and louder than my wife, etc, etc. I am in court at Durham Couty Court despite the threat from Nissan solicitors about their costs and I have legal representation. The case is based on selling a product that is not fit for purpose and to prove that the claimant has to provide the evidence. I am trawling sites from Australia, South Africa to Europe to show that the faults are not being rectified by Nssan and are recurring faults on the Navara. My e mail is maycom@maycom.fsnet.co.uk and any factual info is welcome, as my action could help others. Chelski (Chelski.com) is in honour of my winning a court action against Chelsea FC with the same solicitor acting on this, so the Nissan case should prove no problem with their Navara problems. Problems, what problems....say Nissan.
