Hi All, Newbie here. My 2005 Nissan Navara with 124,472 miles just developed knocking noise and now engine seized. Has got full Nissan service every 6,000 miles for first 102,000 miles and then local garage since( x Nissan Mechanic 30 years experience). Even though its over 5 years and 90,000 miles and therefore out of extended warranty, whats the best way of complaining to Nissan and getting a new engine FOC. Thanks. P.S. the AA have just picked it up and its on the way to a Nissan main dealer in Richmond, N.yorks

Dropping off proof of full service history tomorrow and will see if they have investigated further. Dealer has said they will do all the talking to Nissan UK so fingers crossed. Apparently they have managed in the past to get similar age/milage ones through under warranty/good will gesture.

Here ia an update. No luck with UK customer support kept reiterating that vehicle was over 5 years old and over 93000 miles no luck. Sent email to Uk customer support, Watchdog, customer_supportD22, and to postoffice@nissan.co.jp explaining my situation and call back from UK customer support and still no joy. Gave garage go ahead to repair the short engine as con rod failure had not caused damage to casing quoted £2000 + VAT including parts and labour. A week after email sent, a nice chap from Nissan Directors Office said they were reveiwing my case and next day gave the garage the go ahead to fit new short engine and I pay the £750 labour costs and get a 12 months warranty. SORTED. Until today when having had the car back 2 days and the Fuel Injector Pump has now failed. Common fault I was told Hay Ho

Hi All ,just to put in an update !! and nothing to update .Welcome in to our new members ,Thanks to all of the comments you didn,t make. Oh ! there is something I can say ,My wife has a silly wee Micra , 1.5 diesel mentioned before on many occasions ,regarding reliabiliy etc ,fuel consumption .Well ! it has now done 95,000 miles ,been to the FRench Alpes on 4 occasions and still does not miss a beat.I,ve put off replacing it and will run it into the ground ,whereas my D22 has a rusted sump ,for the second time and I,m losing oil .I bought a similar D22 pickup and am using it for spares and will keep mine going until I,ve had my money,s worth and then put it in the back of the shed and keep it I see old friends coming in to have a look ,keep it up .Regards Niall

Hi All ,This article appeared in The Herald (Glasgow) yesterday14 sept .----Nissan is recalling thousands of vehicles due to a possible steering wheel problem. The recall, which covers around 7000 cars in the UK,affects five door Qashqai models made in 2012,some qashqai + 2 cars, and 3000 of the 2012-made NV200 light commercial vehicles.Nissan said that, where necessary, steering wheels will be replaced.KN believes that anyone who buys from Nissan is MAD.

Hi All - First post
88,000 miles, 54 plate, twin cab, one owner, serviced every three months / 3,000 miles upto 67,000 miles and then max of 5,000 miles but with synthetic oil. Last serviced at 85,000 miles four months ago. According to the RAC "con rod broken on engine". Turned a corner accelerating to about 20mph when heard a rattle noise but couldn't make it to the grass verge before BANG - bits and oil all over the road. Going to a Nissan dealer tomorrow.

Hi Steve ,Welcome to the pissed off navara owners club. A couple of our members have had repairs done after the extended warranty has expired . If you dont get any sense from Nissan GB ,take your complaint to Japan The fact remains that ,even with the extension of warranty ,there is a fault in the YD engine.Your navara is within the mileage covered by this and is KN ,s opinion that that it should be honoured Not everyone does 40,000 miles a year and age should be no barrier Good Luck with Nissan ,,,Niall

Hi Niall, thsanks for the advice. Nissan (UK) today have, as they put it, "declined any good will as it is an import". It is a Cypriot import - "European model" and was brand new when purchased. They have suggested taking it up with providing dealer (Motorhouse). As I see it they are the representative of Nissan (Japan) in this country - I thought that I had seen Nissan repair an import before. So it looks like an email to Uk customer support, Watchdog, customer_supportD22, and to postoffice@nissan.co.jp is the next step. Anyone else have any useful email addresses please? Cheers, Steve
