Vehicle broke down with the usual number 3 conrod fracturing, Rang first line of Nisan defence (customer service), rubbished my warranty claim Got to speak to Angie Matthews and Beverley Cutler, feared they would be the same Far from it...... had my vehicle into a dealer in good time, little slow in the diagnosis, but authorised the NEW ENGINE in the same day as diagnosis, vehicle was quickly repaired, tested and returned to me in less than a week A few things to iron out and i shall be a happy person lets hope they all work out.

Well, I thought this day would never come. Today in the post I received a cheque from Nissan for the full amount of our replacement reconditioned engine, towing costs, tax & insurance of replacement vehicle and small amount of lost earnings. They also sent a box of chocolates. I am extremely relieved as you can all imagine. It will make a big difference to our business having the cash back. The lady we dealt with (eventually) at Nissan, Maria White, was very nice and helpful - wish we had access to her from the start. I feel that the settlement has been fair and so for that I thank Nissan. However, the 2 month delay and effort required to resolve this will leave a lasting bad memory for some time to come. Also, the dealership threatening to charge storage should be an issue that they address as it added insult to injury. Everyone who has had these engine problems must believe that they can get a resolution, no matter how many times they have been told no. Stick with it, it's worth it. Thanks to knackered navara, especially Nik and Niall, tremendous support and encouragement.

I too have had a positive result. ;D ;D ;D ;D Having posted here, talked to my dealer and e-mailed the address given on this site I got a reply from Nicola Fuller, Customer Relations Manager. A few days ago she said they were looking into it and needed to clarify details with the dealer, yesterday she emailed to say the work had been authorised and could I send details of my costs in the meantime (vehicle hire etc.) I have to say that given everyone elses tales of woe I am mightily impressed with the speed and positive outcome of this decision, so huge thanks and gratitude to Nissan, I now have to go round all my mates and take back everything I've said, which I will do with pleasure! Heartfelt thanks also go to this site and its creators, without it I would not have known how common this fault is and would have just put it down to bad luck. The financial implications would however have come close to sending me under. So nice one Nik and Niall, it's the best pound I ever spent and I definitely owe you a beer or two to say the least.

hi there, had a call from Angie Matthews, to see if i had the paperwork to settle out of pocket expenses, unfortunatly i cannot find an important receipt, so its on hold, Angie asked me if my truck was running ok and said is there any thing else she could do, so i said how about a box of chocolates, and hey presto 2 days later a box of quality choccys to eat, (NOT TRYING TO RUB ANYONE WITH A REJECTION'S NOSE IN THE POO),
