The garage in Penrith who put in my engine could not have been more helpful I was spending 4,000 quid That buys a lot of help Apart from that, nothing To be fair to them my navara was out of warranty by 20,000 plus miles .there were3 other pickups in at the same time( I have photos )with the same problem The mechanic told exactly what was wrong without even looking at it and told me to sell it He even offered to buy the shell for 1500 quid He told me I would get nowhere with nissan He was right

I have a 2006 Navara Aventura, bought it 6 months ago. A few days after I took delivery I noticed a rumbling type of rattle on tick over coming from the gear box I think. Took it down to local Nissan people and they condemned the clutch, couple of days later they fitted a new one. ;D Jumped in and the noise was still there exactly the same Didn't want to challenge them there as I have dogs to take care of, got home and rang them, explained noise was still there, got put thro to workshop and spoke to the foreman. He explained they had changed the clutch because there has been a fault on the Nissan ford mavery thing and they thought it was the same fault hence new clutch They said they would consult dealership network and see if anyone has come across this noise. (Obviously didn't happen). Rang again to be told nobody had come across this problem, leave it for now and they will research further. (Obviously didn't happen). Left it 'till the new year and rang again, still nothing, then the 4WD light came on, went off for a couple of days, came on and stayed on. Bring it in they said, condemned switches on transmission, ordered and changed parts, no problem there. What about noise in gearbox says I, still there is it? Surprise, surprise, yes it is, says I. Receptionist consults workshop foreman/manager thingy to be told that a lot of the gearboxes make a noise like this, some have been pulled apart but nothing has been found, if a cure is found for it they will call me. End of. No confidence in these people at all, tomorrow I'm taking it to a different dealership and we'll see what THEY say, not holding out much hope. Lovely machine, very poor build quality and inconsistent electrical system. I'm very disappointed with it. I'll never buy another Nissan product and will always advise people to steer well clear of nissan (no capital) Callaby

Just an update of how my claim is going. Nissan say that they are going to resolve our claim and pay us. Apparently the cheque will take up to 15 working days. Will wait and see how it goes and then give you a full report!

My Navara is 6 mths and 35000 miles out of warranty, since first contacting customer services it has taken less than a week to get the work approved and a request for details of my other related costs. I think mentioning this site helped but either way I couldn't have asked for a better or speedier result. Well done Nissan. My dealer (Sunwin Nissan, Nottingham) have also been a pleasure to deal with, as they have been since buying the vehicle.
