Had the long awaited call from the service manager at the dealership that was replacing my engine first thing this morning. Picked it up this afternoon and haven't stopped grinning ;D the only cost to me was getting it to the dealership and the parts cost for a new clutch kit. Many thanks to Nik who put me onto this and to Nissan, especially Maria White who has been great and have done their best to get me mobile again as quickly as possible. This website is the only way to get any kind of result from Nissan so keep trying or give it a go, I still can't believe that it has been sorted for nothing. Thanks all Josh
